Craig Michael Williamson, born in 1949, was a former officer in the South African Police who led a double life as a spy and assassin for the notorious Security Branch. His story is a tale of deception, betrayal, and the dark underbelly of apartheid South Africa.

Infiltrating NUSAS and the Anti-Apartheid Movement

Williamson infiltrated the National Union of South African Students (NUSAS) and the white left, gaining their trust while simultaneously reporting their activities to the Security Branch. Known as Agent RS167, he played a key role in exposing the anti-apartheid movement from within.

A Spy Exposed and an Assassin Revealed

Williamson's true identity was eventually uncovered, casting a shadow over the anti-apartheid struggle. His cold-blooded assassinations and involvement in torture operations earned him the infamous reputation as a "Mephistophelian figure." Despite his crimes, Williamson received amnesty from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and disappeared from public view, leaving behind a legacy of deceit and betrayal.
